About

The story
Cat and Sylvie met in a sib group for children at the Centre for Ability when they were young and just by chance re-met years later. Talking to each other they realized how similar their experiences were despite the vast difference in their siblings' disabilities. And they found it extremely beneficial to share their stories with someone who could understand the challenges and joys that come with being a sib. So beneficial they felt they couldn't keep it to themselves. Thus the idea for Sibs Link came to be.

Our aim
The goal of Sibs Link is to connect and support siblings of people with disabilities. One of the ways we do that is through Sibling Jam an arts-based workshop developed just for siblings! We have also begun giving educational talks about the sibling experience to local organizations. Sibs Link is based in Vancouver BC, Canada.

Sibling Jam
Sibling Jam is a full-day, art-based workshop that brings together siblings of people with disabilities. Through various writing, storytelling, visual art and drama based exercises we explore our relationships to our siblings individually and as a group. No art experience is necessary. Sense of humour is an asset. Check out the Upcoming Events page for more info about future Sibling Jam dates! This workshop can be shaped either for Adults or Children.
